Binghamton University, State University of New York (SUNY), Anthropology Department seeks an archaeologist specializing in Andean prehistory for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2017. Applicants must have completed a PhD by the time of appointment and have a demonstrated record of teaching, an active research program, potential for grant-funding, and publications. Candidates should complement and contribute to departmental strengths and interests. Qualifications include proficiency in Andean archaeology, a strong theoretical foundation, and expertise in analytic techniques for the study of the archaeological record — for example, artifact analyses, such as ceramics, lithics, textiles, or metallurgy; quantitative methods; GIS; archaeometry; zooarchaeology; paleoenviromental reconstruction; bioarchaeology; etc. The candidate is expected to develop an active research program with field-based and/or laboratory-based research, and with plans to incorporate students in her/his research.
